I'm planning to trade my fully loaded 2016 CX4, 2.5 AWD, for a used 2.5 AWD CX5. The main considerations are: 1. Since both CX4 and CX5 don't hold their value well, the cost of switching cars should be low, probably just an extra 10-20k. 2. The biggest frustration with driving a Mazda is that, except for BMW, no other cars on the market look good to me. But I can't afford a BMW, and Mazda isn't really stepping up. I'm thinking of getting serious about buying when the 3.3 CX60 is available in China, so for now, I'm just making do. My questions are: 1. From 2017 to 2023, were there any particular years with lots of issues? I remember one year the Atenza had severe noise problems, but I'm not sure if that was resolved. 2. Does the CX5 have any common problems? For the 2.5 AWD version, does the vehicle's central shaft heat up after long drives? 3. Does the fully loaded version come with BOSE loudspeakers? Which year was that??? Please let me know if there's anything else important to consider. Thanks.

-5 is comfortable to sit in, -4 is good to drive.

The CX5 has the most spacious interior. From 2017 to 2021, the top flagship models all featured Boss loudspeakers, but the 2022 model removed this feature. Common issues include shock absorber leaks, side mirrors not folding properly, and a large trunk gap similar to that of the CRV. This is typical of Changan's quality control. The highway noise is generally what you would expect in this price range, but the top model's power is better than Subaru's, although the four-wheel-drive capability is average.

Usually, for one or two people using the car, the Steel Wire feels more enjoyable to drive compared to the Gang 5.

Driving it doesn't feel as enjoyable as a BMW-4, it's just more spacious. I suggest just getting a used one. Not for sale.
