Is it normal for the 2017 Jeep Compass 1.4T 2WD Family Enjoyment Edition to occasionally make a "thud" sound when shifting into reverse or forward gears? It seems like it's coming from the transmission. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I had the same issue. How did you finally resolve it, mate? [rose]

It's okay, clutch issues are common problems.

Is it possible that the electronic parking brake wasn't released? Just asking. [I need a moment]

Features of the Jeep Compass dual-clutch transmission, don't worry.

When reversing with the 2019 Jeep Compass 1.4T, there's a "thud" sound, but it's fine in forward gear. Sometimes it doesn't happen. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Hey bro! I have the 2017 1.4 Family Edition, and I'm experiencing the same issue as you! Sometimes when I shift gears, there's a loud "thud" that scares the heck out of me. I thought something might have broken!

That's normal. It's because you parked on a slope. Next time, when parking on a slope, switch to N, engage the electronic handbrake, and then shift to P. This will prevent it from happening.

When my wife drives, there's occasionally a crunching sound when shifting in low gears, and it seems to come from the gearbox. This doesn't happen when I'm driving, so I'm not sure what's going on.
