You can use it, but it's best to follow the model recommended in the maintenance manual. The recommended model has been tested over time and is the most stable and suitable option.

0W-30 and 5W-30 have the same oil viscosity at 30. The number before the "W" (which stands for winter) indicates the oil's flowability or viscosity at low winter temperatures. A lower number means better flowability at low temperatures, which is beneficial for cold starts or when the oil hasn't warmed up yet. However, even with 5W-30, it should still meet the ACEA C1/C2 standards, but it's best to follow your maintenance manual's recommendations.

I remember this 1.6T uses 0-30W C1/C2, and 5-30W is thicker, which might lead to oil consumption.

French cars have high requirements for engine oil. It's recommended not to switch brands casually. Don't trouble yourself for the sake of saving a few bucks.
