Hello everyone, when doing a minor maintenance on the Toyota Tundra, do you need to remove the skid plate to change the oil filter and drain the used oil? Or does the skid plate have an inspection port for changing the oil filter and draining the oil? I'm worried that if you have to remove the skid plate every time, it might wear out the threads on the original car frame, especially since some workers use electric tools for tightening.

Hello everyone. I have an '06 Peugeot 206 with a 1.6 engine. I've been driving it for over two years now. I'm thinking about fixing it up a bit, like touching up the paint and replacing the floor mats and seat covers. I've been keeping up with the maintenance, so I won't go into that. Now I'm just wondering, given the age of the car, is it worth investing more into it? Would appreciate your advice. Thank you!
4For a 12-year-old car that has already run 190,000 kilometers and is experiencing a lack of power when starting, it's generally recommended to use a high-mileage engine oil. High-mileage oils are specially formulated to help reduce oil consumption, minimize leaks and oil seepage, and reduce smoke and emissions in older engines. They also contain additives that help condition seals and protect worn engine parts. You might want to consider a 10W-40 or a 5W-30 high-mileage oil, depending on your climate and specific engine requirements. Always refer to your vehicle's manual or consult with a professional mechanic for the best advice tailored to your car's condition and needs.
5To determine whether your Jeep Compass is equipped with an AT (Automatic Transmission) or CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), you can check the following: 1. **Owner's Manual**: Refer to your vehicle's owner's manual, which should specify the type of transmission. 2. **Vehicle Documentation**: Check any official documents related to the vehicle, such as the purchase agreement or service records, which might indicate the transmission type. 3. **Under the Hood**: Look at the transmission system under the hood. Sometimes the transmission type is labeled on the transmission unit itself. 4. **Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)**: Use the VIN to decode the specifications of your vehicle. Websites or services that provide detailed vehicle information based on VIN can help you identify the transmission type. 5. **Contact Dealership**: Reach out to a Jeep dealership with your VIN. They should be able to provide you with detailed information about your vehicle's transmission type. If there is conflicting information from different sources, the dealership is likely your most reliable source.
6MG GS, with over 60,000 km, recently having trouble starting the car. It requires several attempts to start. Once started, five or six warning lights come on, and when pressing the accelerator, the car doesn't move, can't go over 10 km/h. It often needs to be turned off or re-shifted. Sometimes while driving, pressing the accelerator doesn't speed up the car, but the engine sounds like it's in neutral. It also jerks when moving. Local repair shops are hesitant to fix it, and the 4S shop is too far away. I'm worried the car won't accelerate on the road, which could lead to an accident. Seeking help.
7I bought a 2007 1.6 automatic luxury model for 16,000 in 2022. It was noisy and not easy to drive, so I ended up spending 12,000 on it gradually. I replaced the shock absorbers, engine mounts, stabilizer bar, light bulbs, bearings, and cleaned the engine—pretty much everything that needed fixing. It's much better to drive now and feels like it can last a few more years. I have to say, the parts are really cheap. The city fuel consumption averages 8.8, and I drive pretty aggressively.
8Hello Polestar 2 owners! My family is considering getting an electric car for my wife, with a budget of around 100,000. We're worried about buying a new electric car and then regretting it later, so we're thinking about getting a used Polestar 2, either the 2020 launch edition or the 2021 model. I want to ask if this car is reliable as a second-hand option and if the range is dependable. Is it still a good choice to buy?
9If you're deciding between the 2022 Defender and the 2018 or 2019 Range Rover, here are a few things to consider. At 34, if you need a car that makes a statement and has always dreamed of the Range Rover, it might fulfill that childhood aspiration. However, if you're concerned about unwanted noises and have a bit of OCD, newer models like the 2022 Defender might have fewer issues in that regard due to advancements in manufacturing and technology. The Defender also has a rugged and modern appeal that many people appreciate. Consider what aspects are most important to you: the prestige of the Range Rover or the contemporary features and potential reliability of the Defender.
10Let me share my experience as well. I also have a 2017 MG ZS, one of the first batch from July, manual top configuration. Since then, apart from other issues, the main problem has been the car cutting off power when starting. The entire car loses power, and it won't start. It's fine today, but not tomorrow. The car often won't start. I've replaced several batteries and small parts, but the issue remains. Sigh, I'm disappointed. The car is still at the repair shop now, I'm afraid to drive it. If it stalls, it won't start again, which is frustrating. I used to be a loyal MG fan, but I'm really disappointed now. Next time I change cars, I won't choose MG anymore. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
