Hello fellow car enthusiasts [smile] I have a professional question for the expert mechanics out there! I have a 2013 MG3 with a 1.3L manual transmission. Today, I wasn't in a good mood and drove with the engine revving at 3500 RPM! I was shifting gears up and down intermittently for over a minute at this 3500 RPM. Will this cause any damage to the engine? It was under hot engine conditions. I hope some expert mechanics can help me out, thanks a lot (^_^)

The same 1.3L manual model, my wife gave it to me a few days ago. On the highway, it runs at 140 km/h at 3500 RPM. The whole trip was over 400 kilometers, and I drove at this speed for at least 100 kilometers. No issues at all.

3000 RPM is just the shift point, nothing to worry about.

When I use AMT to manually shift between first and second gear, I need to drive for two to three minutes to burn carbon deposits. It's fine if I don't drive in the red zone for a long time.

Do you really consider 3500 a high RPM? You're underestimating the little 3. [I want to be alone]

Hello everyone, could someone help me with this issue? When in Park and idling, if I rev the engine above 1600 RPM and then release the throttle, the RPM stays around 1600 for about ten seconds before it drops. This doesn't happen if I don't exceed 1600 RPM. Between 1600 and 2000 RPM, there's a noticeable jolt. Additionally, when shifting gears and slowly accelerating, there's a rattling noise between 1600 and 2000 RPM, but it disappears after 2000 RPM. Does anyone have any insights on this? I would really appreciate it. The car model is a 2016 30T two-wheel drive. Thank you very much!

Yesterday, I went for a car maintenance, and the oil draining took a bit longer. The mechanic said that adding just over 4 liters of oil wasn't enough, so they added a bit more, totaling 5 liters. Is this reasonable?

It could be due to several reasons such as engine misfire, idle air control valve issues, or even problems with the transmission mounts. It's best to have a mechanic check it out to diagnose the exact cause.

Is it normal for my manual comfort version car to have the engine rev up to 3000 RPM and make a lot of noise when driving over 100 km/h on the highway?

Hey guys, with the MG3 manual, when I take out the key and get out, it locks automatically after a while. How can I set it so it doesn't auto-lock? I'm worried I'll accidentally lock the keys inside the car. 😢

Hey car enthusiasts, can anyone help me out? My 2015 manual Sunny only revs up to 2000 RPM when I floor the gas pedal, and the acceleration feels weak. What could be the issue?

Hi everyone, can someone help me out? Today, I suddenly noticed a noticeable "da-da-da" sound from the engine when it goes above 2000 RPM. What could be the issue?

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, do you also notice that when you start the car in P gear, the engine revs quite loudly, usually above 1000 RPM? But once you shift to D gear, it drops below 1000 RPM and the sound gets much quieter. Is that the case for you too?
